Blackswan Space raises €2.5 million for US expansion and orbital test
Lithuanian space technology company Blackswan Space has raised €2.5 million in its second investment round to expand sales in the United States and accelerate the commercialisation of its autonomous spacecraft navigation technology.
The round was led by Iron Wolf Capital. Existing investors Lemonade Stand and Linas Sargautis also participated, alongside new investors NGL Ventures and entrepreneur Tomas Žalandauskas. The new round brings Blackswan Space’s total funding to €3.2 million.
Part of the funding will support further sales of the company’s Mission Design Simulator, which is already used by customers in Europe and the US. Blackswan Space also plans to expand its presence in the American market.
The company’s next major technical milestone is an in-orbit test of its RPO Kit, now scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027, earlier than previously planned. The system is a spacecraft payload designed to allow satellites to navigate autonomously around other objects using vision-based detection and tracking.
A successful orbital test would prepare the technology for more complex operations, including inspection, servicing and docking. Blackswan Space’s RPO Kit is also due to be used in the ASTRAL in-space refuelling demonstration planned for 2028.
Founded in 2019, Blackswan Space currently employs around 25 people across Vilnius, London and Denver.
