Rīgas ūdens Raises €40 Million in Green Bonds
Latvia’s largest water utility, Rīgas ūdens, has raised €40 million through a second European Green Bond (EuGB) issuance, completing its €60 million bond programme launched in 2025.
The five-year bonds carry a fixed annual coupon of 4.839%. The issue date is 11 November 2026, with maturity on 11 November 2031. The bonds are expected to be admitted to trading on the Nasdaq Riga Baltic Bond List.
Around 55% of the proceeds will finance sewer network rehabilitation, while 42% will support the expansion of anaerobic digesters at the Daugavgrīva wastewater treatment plant. The remaining 3% will fund energy efficiency improvements and IT monitoring systems.
The financing forms part of Rīgas ūdens’ €235 million infrastructure investment programme for 2025–2028.
The bonds were offered exclusively to institutional investors in the Baltic and Nordic countries.
