🇪🇪 Pärnu set to host the Baltics’ first synthetic-fuel hub
An international consortium led by Destiny Energy Singapore plans a Power-to-X e-methanol plant at Pärnu Airport. The project will use captured CO₂ and green hydrogen to produce renewable methanol for shipping and industry.
Construction could start in 2026 once environmental and grid permits are cleared.
⚗️ Scale & relevance
Projected investment: €200–250 million — Estonia’s largest clean-fuel venture to date.
The plant would supply future methanol-powered vessels via Pärnu and Riga ports and link directly to the EU’s FuelEU Maritime and RePowerEU targets.
🌍 Context
Estonia joins Denmark and Finland in piloting synthetic-fuel production, marking the country’s entry into Europe’s fast-growing e-fuel economy.
