Bank of Lithuania clears Laicus to acquire stake in crypto firm Micar assets
The Bank of Lithuania has raised no objection to a proposed acquisition by UAB Laicus of a substantial minority stake in Lithuanian crypto-asset service provider Micar assets.
Under the decision announced on 16 October, Laicus may directly acquire more than 20% but less than 30% of Micar assets’ share capital and voting rights.
Micar assets received its crypto-asset service provider licence under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) in February 2026. The company is authorised to provide custody, exchange, transfer and order execution services involving crypto-assets. Its shareholders include Lithuanian financial brokerage Myriad Capital.
The regulator’s decision clears the proposed ownership change but does not confirm that the transaction has been completed. The purchase price and closing date have not been disclosed.
