EU Backs Latvia’s €504 Million RRF Payment

LatviaAnnounced

The European Commission has issued a positive preliminary assessment of Latvia’s fifth and final payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, covering approximately €504 million in EU funding.

The assessment, announced on 3 November, found that Latvia had satisfactorily fulfilled 56 milestones and targets linked to the payment. The measures cover reforms and investments in transport, energy, healthcare, digitalisation and other areas.

Latvia’s Finance Ministry puts the payment at €503.7 million and expects the remaining approval procedures to be completed before the end of 2026.

The funds have not yet been disbursed. The assessment must first be reviewed by the EU’s Economic and Financial Committee, after which the Commission can adopt its payment decision.

Once the final payment is made, Latvia will have received the full €1.97 billion allocated under its recovery and resilience plan.
