Hesburger opens €2.1 million drive-through restaurant in central Riga
Finnish fast-food chain Hesburger has opened a new drive-through restaurant at Satekles iela 3 in central Riga, investing more than €2.1 million in the new building and creating 20 jobs.
The three-storey restaurant has a total area of 187.7 square metres. It includes a customer service area, a 22-seat dining space, self-service terminals and a drive-through lane. The site is close to Riga Central Station and the city’s main bus terminal.
Hesburger says this is its first drive-through restaurant located this close to Riga city centre. The investment covers construction of a new building as well as improvements to the surrounding site.
For Riga, this is a relatively small employment project but a concrete private investment in a central urban location. It should not by itself be read as evidence of a wider change in Latvia’s restaurant or retail market.
The €2.1 million investment and employment figures are provided by the company.
