Latvenergo seeks up to 250 MW of wind and hybrid power assets
Latvia / Baltics · Energy / M&A · 11 September 2026
Latvenergo has opened a public selection process for wind or hybrid power projects with a combined capacity of up to 250 MW, marking another step in the state-owned utility’s expansion through acquisitions.
The company says M&A is now one of the instruments it will use to increase generation capacity alongside its own project development.
Latvenergo is targeting 2,300 MW of new renewable generation capacity as it expands its portfolio across the Baltic region.
The current selection will be managed by PwC. Project owners have until November 11 to submit proposals, after which Latvenergo intends to enter potential acquisition discussions with the most suitable candidates.
The announcement is notable not simply as another renewable-energy target. It puts Latvenergo explicitly on the buyer side of the Baltic project market, potentially creating an exit route for developers with mature wind or hybrid assets.
