Lithuania launches Christmas-themed trains for the fifth year

LTG Link has once again introduced its seasonal Christmas trains, which will operate on four main routes — Vilnius–Kaunas, Vilnius–Trakai, Vilnius–Klaipėda and Vilnius–Mockava — until 11 January. One of the trains, decorated by Go Vilnius, highlights the capital’s status as Europe’s Christmas Capital 2025. Last year over 100,000 passengers used the festive services, prompting LTG to introduce seat reservations on the busiest routes. In parallel, the narrow-gauge Siaurukas Christmas trains will run from 5 December to 4 January, attracting around 7,000 visitors annually and linking Anykščiai, Panevėžys and Surdegis with themed holiday events.

Context: Seasonal transport initiatives are becoming a visible tourism tool in Lithuania, strengthening internal mobility and promoting regional winter attractions.
