Mantinga advances plans for €30 million chilled-food factory near Marijampolė
Lithuanian food producer Mantinga Group is advancing plans for a new chilled-food factory near Marijampolė, with the project now in the design and environmental assessment stage.
The planned production building would be constructed at Šunskų kelio 1 in Mokolų Naujienos, outside Marijampolė. Current project parameters envisage a factory of around 12,000–13,000 square metres on a 4.4-hectare site, producing sandwiches, salads and other chilled snacks.
Preliminary investment has been estimated at around €30 million. The project could provide around 247 jobs, although some employees would be transferred from Mantinga’s existing plants. Construction is currently expected to begin in 2028.
The investment is not yet final. Mantinga has said that the eventual decision will depend on economic conditions, while the €30 million figure remains a preliminary estimate rather than an approved final budget.
The project nevertheless has moved beyond an early expansion idea. Marijampolė municipality’s environmental assessment register confirms that Mantinga Production has submitted the planned construction and operation of the new production building for environmental screening.
Mantinga already operates three factories in Marijampolė and another production facility in Latvia. The group reported €200.6 million in revenue for 2025 and describes the new chilled-products factory as one of its main production expansion projects.
The investment also has a wider Baltic dimension. Mantinga has operations in both Latvia and Estonia, while its products are sold through major retail chains across the region. New capacity in Marijampolė would therefore serve a market extending beyond Lithuania rather than a purely local production base.
