Amazon Leo plans to enter Baltic satellite internet market in 2027
Amazon’s satellite internet service, Amazon Leo, plans to begin operations in Latvia and Lithuania in April 2027, followed by Estonia in July, according to the company’s Baltic representative Donatas Zaveckas.
The service will initially target business customers before becoming available to individual users. Amazon Leo is developing a low-Earth-orbit satellite network intended to compete with SpaceX’s Starlink.
According to figures cited by LRT, Amazon currently has 398 satellites in orbit and plans to expand the constellation to more than 3,200 by 2029.
The planned launch would introduce another major satellite connectivity provider to the Baltic market, although local pricing, service coverage and commercial conditions have yet to be announced.
