Estonia receives another €135 million from NextGenerationEU

The European Commission has paid €135 million to Estonia under the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility after the country completed the milestones and targets linked to the payment request.

The funding covers projects including the new Viljandi TERVIKUM hospital and health centre, a 2.5-kilometre extension of Tallinn’s Old Harbour tram line, 18 cycling and pedestrian routes and new digital services for businesses.

With the latest payment, Estonia has received 80% of its €953 million recovery and resilience plan. All remaining milestone-based payments under the facility must be completed by the end of 2026.
