Pipedrive announces its largest restructuring as CRM market changes
Estonian-founded software company Pipedrive has announced plans for the largest restructuring in its history, proposing substantial reductions in staff, management layers, teams and office locations.
In a statement published on October 29, CEO Paulo Cunha said the proposed changes would affect most existing roles across the company. Pipedrive employs nearly 800 people worldwide, approximately half of them in Estonia. The company has not disclosed how many employees may lose their jobs. Final decisions will follow consultation procedures in the countries concerned.
Pipedrive says the restructuring reflects changes in how businesses choose and purchase customer relationship management (CRM) software. The company plans to reduce its reliance on paid search, concentrate on its core CRM product and develop an AI-based sales system called Nova.
Cunha stressed that the restructuring is not intended to replace employees with artificial intelligence. However, AI is changing customer expectations and how businesses discover software products, requiring Pipedrive to reconsider its strategy and operating model.
